While installing the finish end panels on my nephew’s kitchen my sister asked me if I knew how to do it! I told her of course I glue them. This is when she told me of a trick that was taught to her by a family friend that was a union carpenter in NYC. He called it the WHOOKIE! (A mysterious object of unknown origin per the Urban Dictionary). I used to simply run lines of glue in all directions on the panel and stick it in place. It worked for the most part, however occasionally a corner would separate or if the panel was slightly bowed I would have to hold it in place with something. As soon as my sister told me to make circles with the adhesive I thought to myself….thats ingenious! As soon as you put the panel in place and push the air out of the circle it creates suction. Awesome.
